The perfect companion bird!

Care Guide

While the green cheek conure's beauty and brains make it an attractive potential pet, not just anyone can properly care for a conure or any bird. Parrots are a big commitment requiring daily exercise and socialization, fresh food, space for their sizable cage and flying activities. They do well when paired with their own kind, but green cheek conures should not be housed with other species of birds. As with adding additional birds to an environment, the size of cage should be adjusted accordingly.

In its natural environment, the green cheek conure lives in a flock. As a pet, it still needs a considerable amount of interaction with its owner. Expect your bird to need two to four hours outside of its cage per day for socialization and exercise.
